ALESSANDRO VOLTA
John Loose, stemming from electrical engineering, mixes his passion for craft beer with science. Voltz is named after the unit of measurement, volt. Volts are the unit of measure that defines the difference in potential between two conducting wires. Volts are a fundamental unit in the study of electrodynamics and named after Italian physicist Alessandro Volta. Alessandro Volta, among other things, is also accredited with the invention of the electric battery and the discoverer of methane. Because of Volta’s impact, John wanted to name Voltz after him, paying homage to his legacy.
